The U13 - U18 Age Group
By reaching 11 a-side, children have progressed to the youth section of the club's pathway on their SYFA journey and are at a stage where they will be fully competitive. This not only means playing for points and trophies, but also playing for and earning a jersey and a position within the starting lineup. EKRR fully supports and promotes healthy competition within the group and children will be afforded every chance to demonstrate their skills and talents. At this stage, children will also have to contend with referees and will learn the discipline that comes with red and yellow cards. In these instances, children will be coached to realise what they could've done differently to avoid a carded offence. During this time:
- We continue to tailor team training to suit the position that the child lands on
- We will continue to utilise game based scenarios, tactics boards and live demos etc to ensure all children understand what is being asked of them
- We ensure that the child's fitness enables them to perform to their maximum
- We utilise premium coaching content to develop skills and awareness
We recognise children will experience a number of physical and emotional changes during this time and our coaches are trained to support children through this through patience and positive reinforcement
By the end of this period, children will be ready to move to 11a-side competitive football around the time they go to high school
